L.A. Firefighter Caught on Camera Beating Woman for Feeding Stray Cats

L.A. Firefighter Caught on Camera Beating Woman for Feeding Stray Cats
Former Los Angeles firefighter Ian Justin Eulian, 39, was found guilty Thursday of beating a woman who was feeding stray cats in their West Adams neighborhood in an attack that was caught on surveillance camera.

Eulian was found guilty of one count each of battery with serious bodily injury and assault by means likely to produce great bodily injury, according to a news release from the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.

Eulian and his mother Lonieta Antonietta Fontaine, 72, had denied assaulting the then 47-year-old woman.

They confronted the woman as she sat inside her parked car on Sept. 14, 2013.

Surveillance video showed Eulian lean into the car and yell at the woman, who then threw cat kibble at him.

He then punched the woman twice, pulled her out of her car and hit her again as she fell to the ground unconscious, the release stated.

Eulian’s mother at one point appears to slap the woman.

When the victim regained consciousness, she told Eulian and his mother that she couldn’t recall what had happened.

According to the allegations, Eulian and Fontaine helped her back into her car. They drove the woman to her home and told her that she had tripped and hit her face on the car.

The surveillance video was played in court during the trial.

Eulian faces up to seven years in state prison when he is sentenced on June 30.
