Ever wonder what happens to lions and tigers that retire from the circus or are simply abandoned? If they’re lucky, the end up at Big Cat Rescue in Tampa, the largest accredited sanctuary dedicated to abandoned and abused big cats.
Dozens of lions, tigers, bobcats, cougars and other animals are fed and cared for there. Most of them have been abandoned, abused, orphaned, saved from being turned into fur coats, or retired from performing acts.
During a two-hour behind-the scenes tour, you can make toys and treats, watch a training session, learn the history and interact with a variety of wild cats.
