According to Big Cat Rescue more than 10,000 big cats are privately owned in the USA and they should be watched at all times.
Animal welfare campaigners made the video showing the predatory instinct of tigers, lions and cheetahs is strong despite captive surroundings.
Big Cat Rescue have proved just how dangerous big cats can be, even if they act like friendly pets.
Surprisingly, the big cats look like scary hunters as they creep up behind the backpack-wearing star of the video.
When they recognize his face they relax and look like they would never strike someone they knew.
But the number of deaths and injuries is shocking - for both animal and human.
Since 1990, 21 people have been killed, 247 big cat owners have been mauled, 259 big cats have escaped their often awful living conditions, 143 have died in captivity and 132 have been confiscated by the authorities.
More than 10,000 big cats are privately-owned in the USA.
They include tigers, lions, cougars, leopards, jaguars, cheetahs and lion/tiger hybrids.
One exotic animal lover called Norman Buwalda, 66, from Southwald, Canada, was mauled to death by a 661 pound pet Siberian tiger.
Mr Buwalda walked into the deadly cat's cage to feed it when he was pounced upon in June 2010.
A family member found his mutilated remains and managed to separate the animal from its fatally-wounded owner.
In 2009, Kelly Ann Walz, 37, was killed by a black bear she kept as a pet when it attacked while she was cleaning a cage.
