Officials are trying to determine what caused the male to attack the 5-year-old female named Johari on Sunday afternoon in front of zoo visitors. Authorities say the three lions were part of the same exhibit for several years.
The Dallas Morning News (http://dallasne.ws/1hYHraQ ) reports the two males went back on display Wednesday as zoo officials consider the future of the lion exhibit. For now, the two males are being kept separate from the two remaining females.
Veterinarian Lynn Kramer says zoo officials don't want to separate the sexes forever and hope for some cubs.
Zoo officials haven't said which male lion killed the female.
