Wylie Tiger Update: Twenty Two Sick

I have been privy to a series of emails and a phone call that documents the following…

Twenty Two tigers are sick with an illness that has been diagnosed as CDV or Canine Distemper Virus. They are being treated for a disease, CDV expert, Dr. Alson Sears, says is impossible to transfer from dogs to cats, even big cats.  It could be Big Cat Distemper and must be treated accordingly but distemper cannot be transferred from dogs (even raccoons have been blamed) according to Dr. Sears.

On Monday, June 24, the Wylie, TX  In-Sync Exotics sanctuary director and one of their vets, were finally reached on the phone after weeks of trying to reach out to them. The vet agreed to discuss the case with Dr. Sears at 6 pm CST that evening however, to date, the vet continues not to answer his calls nor return messages, despite the pleas of the big cat sanctuary owner herself.

The big cat sanctuary owner was also trying to reach a local Houston vet, who is practicing Dr. Sears’ protocols, but I was told that he never returned her calls. He, too, may have been able to make a difference–or at best, connect her to Dr. Sears.

Some of the big cats have now gone neurologic–they are having seizures–and Dr. Sears suspects, that under the current set of circumstances, the rest will eventually follow.

Dr Alson Sears has been credited for finding the treatment for CDV, canine distemper and Parvo, as well as a long list of other deadly mammalian diseases. His protocols have saved thousands of animals worldwide, and even just having him as a sounding board, would be an asset to any vet who truly wanted to save lives and not continue treating animals with a probable misdiagnosis which can lead to eventual euthanasia–which is the AVMA’s accepted method, according to Dr. Sears, of stopping an outbreak. “By killing the host, you also kill the disease…”

The tragedy here is that the majority of these animals could have been saved–with a correct diagnosis and treatment. Now, it may be too late. I pray not.

Please help spread the word to anyone trying to save the tigers. There is a Hope–and a treatment.
