The big cats that used to roam all of New York are reclaiming some of their territory.
Residents of a small town just outside Westchester County have reported a spate of bobcat sightings, NBC 4 reported Wednesday.
At least one frisky feline — about twice the size of the average housecat — has invaded Ardsley Village’s backyards, public parks and green spaces.
A public employee saw a bobcat eating what may have been a most unlucky woodchuck recently, NBC reported.
Another Ardsley Village resident took pictures of one of the short-tailed creatures in her backyard, and a cop saw one in a park, NBC said.
They may all have seen the same animal, a local official said.
Bobcats can weigh up to 30 pounds and they’re usually found in the Catskill and Adirondack mountains.
The aloof animals pose little to no threat to humans as long as people keep their distance and don’t try to pet them, officials said.
