Poster's note: the trainer got what he deserved. Tigers, elephants, lions, etc. do NOT NOT NOT belong in circuses.

This is the shocking moment a tiger mauled a big cat tamer mid-way through a circus act in Spain.
Circus trainer Danny Gottani was filmed taming the huge tiger at the Gottani Circus in Madrid when his act went disastrously wrong.
Audience mobile phone footage shows the moment the fearsome beast pounces on Gottani's back, clawing at his throat, neck and legs.
Amid horrified shrieks from terrified spectators, the big cat continues to lunge and swipe at Gottani, who can do nothing but try to wrestle the tiger from his back.
Eventually circus workers sprint into the ring, beating the tiger with a stick in an attempt to fend off the animal.
Gottani, 35, who has been working with big cats in circuses for decades, is eventually seen at the end of the video walking unaided from the circus ring.

Trainer Gottani was later pictured being transported to hospital.

The trainer was taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries which did not affect his vital organs.
His mother, aged 60, also received medical attention after suffering a panic attack when the mauling took place.
The condition of the tiger after the attack was not revealed.
According to Spanish media, the circus show was briefly stopped so Gottani could leave the ring, but was restarted soon after.
